LARGE FUSED GLASS ART COMMISSIONS
‘Gardening’
SIZE 14" x 27.5" | WALL PANEL
The client’s inspiration:
This work, ‘Gardening’ and its companion ‘The Sea’ were done in response to a client who wanted to commemorate her late parents.
Her mother particularly liked irises. The decision was whether to go for a broader garden view, or go into something more abstract and “irisy”. As you can see the more abstract interpretation won out hands down.
Linda’s vision:
This has become one of my most popular works and I'm delighted to say, has already led to two further botanical commissions.
I felt a deep passion when producing this work. There’s something I can't explain the quiet satisfaction I felt every time I worked on these vivid and brilliant colours. For example, the natural iris purple evolved into becoming a blue as it felt so much stronger.
The client said:
"It looks beautiful - I am delighted! I am also pleased that you are happy with it."
'The Sea'
SIZE: 14" x 27.5" | WALL PANEL
The client’s inspiration:
This the second part of a wall panel diptych along with ‘Gardening’. The client’s father was at sea a lot and brought her home massive shells and conches from tropical shores, which she still has.
What a special memory.
Interestingly the client is the Emerita Artist in Residence at Chester Cathedral in the UK, so I was very honoured to be selected by a noted artist, who must have plenty of artist friends to choose from.
Linda’s vision:
Drawing shells which are almost perfect fibonacci spirals was really exciting. It surprised me how satisfying they were to draw, as they gave me the opportunity to subsequently cut lots of nice long thin curves.
The client said:
"These beautiful works in fused glass will take pride of place in my new home!!"
'Butterflies & wine'
SIZE: 18.5" | LARGE ROUNDEL & MINIATURE ON STANDS
The client’s inspiration:
It started with a message.
Rob said "She just loves your work. Always showing me the glass you produce - we just love it.
The bigger the better. Bright and colourful, with butterflies ... and maybe a glass of white wine."
That message became this fused glass artwork.
Linda’s vision:
‘Butterflies & Wine’ was made in secret as a 40th birthday gift for someone who had been following me for years.
Butterflies for her mum.
Sauvignon Blanc for their memories.
What an absolute joy to create something so full of love! ☺️
The client said:
"You and Rob have done such a fantastic job of capturing memories and beauty in these pieces of glass. I couldn’t be more pleased and grateful for this gift that I get to look at everyday."
'Flamboyance'
SIZE: 9" x 14" | MEDIUM TALLBOY & MINIATURE ON STANDS
The client’s inspiration:
A returning customer wrote asking "Do you have pinks? What do you think about doing a flamingo?"
Linda’s vision:
When I was commissioned to create this Flamingo, I was hesitant ... Pink just isn't my colour - and it's difficult to obtain in glass too.
But rather than say 'No' I decided to rise to the challenge and start stretching the boundaries of the flamingo palette.
And a few months on, it's still one of my favourites from the year.
I also designed a new stand, which I call a Tallboy, designed to hold portrait-shaped longer tall pieces.
The mounted panel is complemented by a flamingo head Miniature.
The client said:
"Linda!!!! It is absolutely fabulous!!!! More so than before!!"
'Cobalt Cathedral'
SIZE: 18.5" | LARGE ROUNDEL ON STAND
The client’s inspiration:
"I’d like to explore a redesign of the ‘Wells’ piece or the ‘Chequer’ piece. I lean more towards the cooler colors rather than reds and oranges. I like the metal stand and would want to sit it on a table amongst plants and a taupe-gray wall - open to suggestions"
Linda’s vision:
One of my most popular works is 'Wells', an architectural piece based on the ancient Saxon cathedral in Wells, Somerset.
An existing client, who was gradually buying larger and larger pieces from me, asked if I could reimagine 'Wells' in cooler colours from the original.
We came up with Cobalt - and a completely different perspective view of one of my favourite works!
The client said:
"Looks great, can’t wait to see it in person! Thanks so much, it’s been a pleasure"
'Jungle for Magdalena'
SIZE: 18.5" | LARGE ROUNDEL
The client’s inspiration:
My client wanted a memorial, something to cherish the memory of his recently passed artist wife, Magdelena. The family all gathered round to join in this commission, inspired by a much-loved Jungle work of Magdalena's.
Linda’s vision:
Working with the whole family, her husband, sister and parents, we created a design that works in glass, while still keeping faith with her original artwork.
The client said:
"It is amazing! ... Thank you Linda. It was a pleasure working with you!"
'Landscape Window'
SIZE: 40" x 18.5" | TWO LARGE PANELS
The client’s inspiration:
My Brittany client returned for a second piece - a window in his TV lounge.
The inspiration he gave me was absolutely perfect for my style - he showed me two original acrylics hanging on his wall, both by Jinsheng You, a modern Chinese landscape artist.
Linda’s vision:
Working within a similar palette to Jinsheng, I designed a large abstract window, comprising two large panels that fit seamlessly for a full landscape window effect.
The client said:
"You are absolutely amazing. I am technical and demanding, a perfectionist as you know.
Your mastery and precision in assembling and cutting glass is ... I can't find the word, incredible? phenomenal?
In short, you know your art like the back of your hand! I'm won over."
'Chequer' roundel
SIZE: 12.5" | MEDIUM ROUNDEL ON STAND
The client’s inspiration:
Out of the blue I received an email:
"I'd like to reimagine your Chequer with more cobalt. My favorite colors are the Caribbean blues, especially the dark ones and peridot green. I have my hair colored a dark grape purple. My car is bright lime green. I love color! I’m an artist."
Linda's vision:
It's always special to Reimagine one of my best-loved works - this time as a medium roundel. It's like watching a family grow. We all have the same surname, but we're all different!
The client said:
"Linda was incredibly easy to work with at helping me to get the colors that I love in my glass art piece. It is so beautiful and looks exactly like the pictures she sent me.
So happy I did this!"
'Biarritz Diptych'
SIZE: 22.5" x 19" | TWO LARGE PANELS
The client’s inspiration:
This wa s aready-made piece that the client simply wrote in and asked to buy.
This glass artwork consists of two fused glass panels, designed to complement each other, and work perfectly together. The whole is greater than the sum of the parts!
Linda's inspiration:
The design came from me admiring the architecture in Biarritz, France. I got a strong feeling for the water and geometric buildings in the sunshine. I've always loved Hockney's depiction of swimming pool water, so this also influenced the look of the pool.
The client said:
"The glass arrived in perfect condition and Dan absolutely LOVES it!"
'Floral'
SIZE: 18.5" | LARGE ROUNDEL ON STAND
The client’s inspiration:
This was a birthday gift to his wife.
He said: "I found you on Instagram and absolutely love the work you do. I wanted to reach out about commissioning a piece for my wife in a style similar to her favorite art / artist but tailored to her as a Christmas / 40th birthday present."
Linda's inspiration
This was my first ever floral roundel, all curves, no easy straight lines so it was a challenge that happily worked out perfectly!
The client said:
"It was great collaborating with you on this."
'Orangerie'
SIZE: 18.5" | LARGE ROUNDEL ON STAND
The client’s inspiration:
The client was me! I wanted to make this as it reminded me of warmer times and places.
Linda's inspiration:
Orangerie spells warmer times and places captured in a large glass art roundel.
Inspired by my visits to glass houses across Europe, it captures the feeling of a tropical glass house, with its wide variety of lush vibrant green plants.
This is the moment I wanted to capture - smell, heat, air, colour, lushness, light - the moment you walk in the door!
The client said:
I did this for me - but unfortunately it sold within a month so I can no longer see it. Oh well, never mind!
'Gallery montage'
EIGHT-PIECE MONTAGE SCENE
The client’s inspiration:
The client was me. I'd recently visited a Leonardo sketchbook exhibition in Manchester and just loved the way everyone stood and stared at these amazing works.
Linda's inspiration:
The unusual idea for me was the face of the woman in the middle. I wanted her to be a jewel amidst a crowd of people and other artworks. Subsequently the Cubist woman's face has become a singular theme of mine. And she started here!
The client said:
I was the client, and it went out of the door fasetr than anything Id ever done.
The buyer said "I absolutely love my piece and it fits in perfectly with my glass bar"
She was so pleased, she even sent me photographs of Gallery in her home :)
'Yearning'
SIZE: 18.5" | LARGE ROUNDEL ON STAND
The client’s inspiration:
The client was me.
Linda's inspiration
Having previously developed the Cubist face and the face in Earrings I wanted to explore the beautiful possibilities further.
The question I still ask myself is "What is she really thinking?"
The client said:
"Yearning" is the crown of my personal collection, which is really fairly extensive.
She is even MORE spectacular when actually seeing her in person!
I loved her from the first minute I saw her and could not get her out of my mind until I purchased her and she was delivered to me.
Now she resides like a queen on the top of my living room bookcase and I can see her from my breakfast room and kitchen. She is ALWAYS visible to me.
I can NOT state emphatically enough how very happy I am that she is MINE."
'Wells'
SIZE: 18.5" | LARGE ROUNDEL ON STAND
The client’s inspiration:
The client was me.
Linda's inspiration:
After visitng Wells Cathedral in Somerset I was overwhelmed by the architecture.
When first entering the cathedral I couldn't miss this extrordinary Gothic arch structure which became the central theme in the work.
It desperately needed recolouring to express its own truth - rather than the brown stone of the cathedral itself.
I'd never reimagined a cathedral before :)
The client said:
"I am so excited to have your work and look at it every day!"

'Chicka Chicka Awards'
SIZE: 5" each | SIX LARGE MINIATURES ON STANDS
The client’s inspiration:
The client was a Canadian illustrator who's latest book had just ascended into the New York Times bestseller list!
To celebrate, he asked for a series of six large Miniatures to present as individually engraved awards to his literary colleagues throughout North America.
Linda's inspiration:
I thought this was a wonderful gesture to thank all the people involded in the book's success.
The inspiration came from the graphic style of the book.
The client said:
"Linda was always quick to respond to my questions and suggestions. Her creativity shone through in the solutions she brought to my commission. She kept me informed every step of the way with thoughtful comments, suggestions, and photos. As a creative professional myself, I had high expectations - and Linda delivered!"
'Couleurs de St Barth'
SIZE: 15" | LARGE BOWL
The client’s inspiration:
My client, who lives near Antibes in the South of France, wanted to gift his friend who was visiting from the beautiful Caribbean island of St Barts.
He asked me if I could make a bowl that reflected the colours of the sparkling blue sea his friend saw from her balcony every morning.
Linda's inspiration:
It's always exciting to work for a client who comes back for more.
Fortunately I was going through my 'blue period' after producing 'Cobalt Cathedral' so I was quite thrilled to take this palette even further and match it to the tropical Caribbean sea.
It was such a feelgood project!
The client said:
"I love Linda 😊
Francine will be pleased with her "Couleurs de St. Barth" bowl.
It was received on Monday, on time 😊"
'Bristol balloons'
TWELVE PIECE MONTAGE SCENE
The client's inspiration:
Did you know there's a famous Balloon Fiesta held in Bristol every year that's been going on for almost 50 years?
My client has a powerful memory of this event, seeing all the magnificent hot air balloons soaring effortlessly up into the sky - from back when he was a student at the university.
He wanted to bring it to life on one of his walls, the way he remembered, in all it's colour and glory.
Linda's inspiration:
This was such fun because the client had already bought a black Bristol skyline - all I had to do was make some beautiful balloons in the right colours and proportions to montage over the skyline until the whole thing worked!
This was my first set of balloons.
They were so popular on instagram that I've been asked for individual and sets of glass balloons eight times now.
The client said:
"He was kind enought to send me photographs of the balloons on his wall at home, of which he was obviously very proud.
There's nothing nicer than seeing my own art in its final setting, where it's intended to be."
"I love how you asked for, and then followed, my input about the piece I wanted and THEN drew up 3 separate designs for me to choose from which went way and above what I expected.
You have been wonderful to, I hate to say “deal” with, because that falls short of how my experience with you went.
I feel that it was more of a collaboration together.
Thank you so much, I love them both!"

'Rainbowl'
SIZE: 11.5" | LARGE BOWL
The client’s inspiration:
Already a keen collector of my glass art, the client saw my small square rainbow bowl, and immediately commissioned a much larger round one to add to her glass art collection.
Linda's inspiration:
There was always a really beautiful feeling in taking many many individual pieces of coloured glass and forming them into a unique Rainbowl design.
The Rainbowl idea was one of my earliest inspirations, and actually won me 14.7M views online - a colossal figure for a start-up artist.
So it was very fulfilling to develop this as a new bowl shape in a reasonably large size.
The client said:
"Love, love, love my rainbow glass dish so much. Great quality & attention to detail."
'Stairs 2'
SIZE: 12.5" | MEDIUM ROUNDEL AND 2 MINIATURES
The client’s inspiration:
The original 'Stairs' was quite large, so the client asked if I could do one a bit smaller, but with 2 Miniatures to support it.
I thought this was a great idea, as I loved the original 'Stairs' and welcomed the chance to revisit the design.
Linda's inspiration:
To get there, I completely reimagined all the colours while keeping close to the original design elements which I then extended into the Miniatures.
I always have a strong feeling for abstract architectural works.
The client said:
Oh my gosh, everything is so beautiful!! More beautiful than I imagined!"
'Florals'
SIZE: 4" | 4 MINIATURES
The client’s inspiration
The client saw me working on a larger Floral work. She liked it so much, she asked if I could create a set of 4 Miniatures in a similar theme for her.
Linda's inspiration
I like the idea so much, I actually made her eight of these Floral Miniatures, and let her pick her four favourites, which she did. Happy days!
The client said:
"Beautiful artwork; great communication; very good packaging (purchased several items and no damage); and great communication."
'Chequer'
SIZE: 18.5" | LARGE ROUNDEL
The client’s inspiration:
The client was me. I wanted to create something with really bright, vibrant strong colours - and somehow the black and white chequer slipped in!
Linda's inspiration
This was based on an old design I'd had in my head for years that deserved to get out.
It holds the record as my most Reimagined work to date, in response to requests like “I love the original. Can I have another one like it please?”
I had no idea at the time that 'Chequer' would turn out to be one of my most popular concepts, which I've since reimagined in a number of different ways.
The client said:
The buyer said: "The nice thing about it being on a stand is that it’s easy to move and I’m sure I will change its position several times. I find with any artwork that when you first position it, you really appreciate it, but after a while your eye becomes so used to seeing it there, that you almost stop seeing it. Moving things around really makes you notice them again."
'Earrings'
SIZE: 18.5" | LARGE ROUNDEL
The client’s inspiration:
The client was me. I wanted to create a face. Strangely, the focus of the work ended up being the earrings, which is why I gave it it's title Earrings
Overall I loved it's big impact.
Linda's inspiration:
I wanted to combine geometry and portraiture into a single piece with high impact. The result more than satisfied me.
The client said:
The buyer is a lifelong glass art collector, and was one of the few people I invited to the Studio to see it.
She was so delighted she decided to rename it "Linda" - very flattering!
Subsequently we've had regular chats on WhatsApp.
Recently she said "We're still madly in love with our "Linda""
'Chequer bowl'
SIZE: 15" | LARGE BOWL
The client’s inspiration:
The client was me. I was so taken with the Chequer roundel that I wanted to reimagine it as a Chequer bowl.
Linda's inspiration:
I always liked bowls and often feel I don't make enough if them as they're not so readily seen as 'real art'.
All the same I couldn't resist doing this one, especially as 'Chequer' roundel made such an impression on me personally.
And as it happened, this bowl was quickly snapped up by an existing client who likes collecting me.
The client said:
"Thanks again for your beautiful art and bringing some sunshine into our home."
'Swirls' bowl
SIZE: 11" | MEDIUM BOWL
The client’s inspiration:
She said "This piece is going into my living room which has a lot of red, but I want something to replace all the items on my small table. I don’t think things have to match. I just want a dramatic touch of blue in the space."
Linda's inspiration:
The swirls design is a favourite of mine, so I was delighted when this lady wanted to reimagine it, and as a bowl!
She was quite particular over the colours, so I sent her various photographs of the actual glass held up to the light, so she could see exactly what she was getting. I was glad when I got it right for her.
The client said:
"I worked with Linda on a bowl to get the colors just right. It worked out just right!"
'Floral 2'
SIZE: 12.5" | MEDIUM ROUNDEL & 2 MINIATURES
The client’s inspiration:
My client wanted to gift his wife 'the experience of working with me' on a roundel - as an artistic partnership.
Linda's inspiration:
She's a discerning lady with a very clear vision and lots of ideas, so I had to work hard to get everything exactly as she wanted, but it was well worth it, as the final Floral roundel and 2 miniatures make a striking focal point in the room.
The client said:
"You have no idea how excited I am to own a piece of your work as I admire and love it so much.
I must say Billy really hit it out of the park when choosing an item from you as my 50th birthday gift. "
'Gaze' Miniatures
4" Miniatures | SET OF SIX
The client’s inspiration:
He said: "I would love to have a set of pieces with your full creative liberty. The only thing I ask is that I get some eyes and lips, like in the “set of four” picture. Other than that I fully trust you and your process."
Linda's inspiration:
It was exciting to redevelop my 'Gaze' theme and do it completely differently to previous works in the style.
Ten years from now I'll probably look back fondly on my 'Gaze' period!
The client said:
"Oh my good lord! You are absolutely amazing! I’m so in love already. I can already see them on my wall! IM IN LOOOOOVE!"
"Well, I am just ecstatic about how they came out!! They are just so beautiful, and I love the stands!
Thank you so much for your hard work on these…I will treasure them forever!! I feel lucky to have some of your beautiful work in my home!!
Have a great day, and thank you again!!"
