Miniature Commissions Gallery
Every Miniature you see follows exactly the same creative process as Linda's largest commissions.
The only difference is that a Miniature is often the easiest place to begin
Original Hard Edge Glass Art Miniature Commissions
No two commissions are ever alike because every artwork begins with a different story
Fox & Magpie: ‘Thick as Thieves’
SIZE 5" | TWO MINIATURES ON STANDS
The collector’s inspiration:
“Hi Linda, I would absolutely love to commission two pieces from you as a present for one of my closest friends please?
At this point in time I was thinking to have one of a Magpie and one of a Cross Fox, with the two somehow linked or related to each other.
My friend's a writer and the fox and the magpie are two central characters of her story who are very closely linked together, so I wanted to honour that.”
How Linda developed the commission:
A Cross Fox is a variant of the Red Fox, found mostly in Canada, uniquely recognised by the cross on its furry back (which you can’t see in the picture :)
Because this was a pair of Miniatures, the background to the fiery fox became the main colours of the wise magpie, and vice-versa. What a beautiful idea for a pair or Miniatures to be related by colour.
Although I’d drawn birds before, the fox was my first animal. It was a real challenge to capture the spirit of the fiery fox in just a few pieces of glass. How do I get these two contrasting emotions of fieriness and wisdom to sit together? I loved the result!
Collector feedback:
“I'm absolutely in awe as to how you captured so many aspects of the characters so seamlessly and seemingly without effort!
It has been absolutely lovely to have the privilege of commissioning you, it's definitely been one of the smoothest and most positive experiences I've had in this area.
You have a wonderful imagination and a deep joy in your work that is clear to see.”
‘More Than’
SIZE: 8" | CIRCLUAR PIECE FOR KEEPSAKE BOX
The collector’s inspiration:
After his girlfriend, Beck, passed unexpectedly, Spencer wanted to make a Keepsake Box to commemorate her memory.
And he felt it needed a beautiful glass lid on the box, with their initials ‘B & S’ together.
How Linda developed the commission:
What an honour to create something so meaningful and personal.
From all the ideas Spencer gave me, I created a design encompassing a central arch, a lens (to represent learning and books), her favourite monstera leaf, a rainbow (another favourite), a flowing water curve (she loved the ocean), an angular crystal, and of course their initials together.
It was a pot-pourri of beautiful ideas and connections, and thoroughly pleasing to make.
Collector feedback:
“Superb Craftsmanship”
“Linda is a delightful person! She did an excellent job!!”
“I am blown away by how well it turned out!!”
'The Boys'
MINIATURES | SET OF TWO
The collector’s inspiration:
One of my earliest clients wanted her Grandsons as figures pointing upwards to balloons I'd created for her previously.
How Linda developed the commission:
I made a montage of figures for my original 'Gallery' work and I always wanted to make some more. So it felt like the perfect commission for me.
The collector sent me photographs, and told me stories about her grandsons which inspired me even more.
I love all the detail that collectors pass onto me as it means I can create something even more personal and meaningful.
Collector feedback:
"Oh wow they look so good! Really looking forward to getting them on my wall.
Love the little book and its story"
'Orchid & Sakura'
MINIATURES | SET OF THREE
The collector’s inspiration:
An existing collector wanted a pair of original Miniatures to complement her previous large commission on the same theme.
After a few weeks she then added a third Miniature on a stand, as she loved all her glass originals so much she wanted something extra, small but personal, for another room.
How Linda developed the commission:
I was so happy because the original large commission excited me so much, it was a delight to develop the theme further. To date she’s the only collector who’s added a trio of Miniatures to her large glass artwork!
On social media this proved to be the most popular work I’d done at the time.
Collector feedback:
“The Sakura Mini has been delivered safe and sound and is beautiful with the others.
Thank you for all of your help during this process.
It was an absolute pleasure working with you and I look forward to working with you in the future!”
WHAT WOULD YOU LOVE LINDA TO CREATE FOR YOU?
Every collector on this page started with an idea.
Some brought a favourite place. Some a milestone event. Some a much-loved pet.
Others wanted Linda to create something really unique to express a strong feeling they wanted to see realised as original art.
You don't need to start the creative process with a finished design idea.
You just need an idea worth exploring
'Yearning'
MINIATURE | ONE OFF
The collector’s inspiration:
The lady who bought my large Yearning roundel said she'd like an accompanying Miniature of the Eye, which is the focal point of the original piece.
How Linda developed the commission:
Knowing the large Yearning roundel as I do, it was a pleasure to fashion this small but compelling Miniature, capturing the eye in its solo glory.
I also liked Michelle's vision of the Miniature being like a piece of fabulous jewelry to accompany her large 'Yearning' lady.
Collector feedback:
"Oh it is GORGEOUS Linda!
Thank you so very much, I really to love and appreciate it.
Can't wait to put it next to her."
'Toucans'
MINIATURES | SET OF TWO
The collector’s inspiration:
"I have such a big connection with toucans… I’m from Brasil and I’ve been living in the US for over 20 years now. We have a lot of toucans in Rio de Janeiro. Toucans remind me of home, of family, and they bring me so much happiness.
As soon as I saw your work, I fell in love… it was love at first sight and I knew right then that I needed them in my house, so bring Brasil closer to home. ❤️"
How Linda developed the commission:
I'd already created two Miniatures that went with the original large Toucans roundel, so I saw this as an opportunity to dig even deeper into the theme. But as a small work, which is always a delight to do.
Collector feedback:
"I don't think words can express all the beauty on these Toucans ... the feeling of touching them, after seeing all the planning you did and all the hours of pure love you dedicated into making them, makes me feel special ... and my Toucans priceless."
'Chicka Chicka Awards'
SIZE: 5" each | SIX LARGE MINIATURES ON STANDS
The collector’s inspiration:
The collector was a Canadian illustrator who's latest book had just ascended into the New York Times bestseller list!
To celebrate, he asked for a series of six large Miniatures to present as individually engraved awards to his literary colleagues throughout North America.
How Linda developed the commission:
I thought this was a wonderful gesture to thank all the people involded in the book's success.
The inspiration came from the graphic style of the book.
Collector feedback:
"Linda was always quick to respond to my questions and suggestions. Her creativity shone through in the solutions she brought to my commission. She kept me informed every step of the way with thoughtful comments, suggestions, and photos. As a creative professional myself, I had high expectations - and Linda delivered!"
'Gaze' Miniatures
4" Miniatures | SET OF SIX
The collector’s inspiration:
He said: "I would love to have a set of pieces with your full creative liberty. The only thing I ask is that I get some eyes and lips, like in the “set of four” picture. Other than that I fully trust you and your process."
How Linda developed the commission:
It was exciting to redevelop my 'Gaze' theme and do it completely differently to previous works in the style.
Ten years from now I'll probably look back fondly on my 'Gaze' period!
Collector feedback:
"Oh my good lord! You are absolutely amazing! I’m so in love already. I can already see them on my wall! IM IN LOOOOOVE!"
EVERY COLLECTOR ON THIS PAGE BEGAN WITH AN IDEA.
Some arrived with photographs.
Some with memories or feelings.
That's where every commission begins.
Not with glass.
With your idea.
'Mono Lisa' - Eye
MINIATURE | ONE OFF
The collector’s inspiration:
Originally she wanted a Spotify code on her main large commission, so it played her favourite Chake Khan song while she was looking at it.
How Linda developed the commission:
I fairly quickly decided that an engraved Spotify code on the main large work would look wrong.
But I still liked the idea of hearing a favorite song while looking at the piece.
So I designed a Miniature with a Spotify code that worked artistically. I sent her the design and she liked the idea.
The spotify code was engraved onto the glass. To make sure it stood out, I added silver into the engraving.
Collector feedback:
"“Yes, I like the fact that the silver makes the actual code stands out more because to me that’s the reason I want people to see automatically that it’s a code you hold your phone up to to interact with that piece so yes if possible I would love that code to be in silver for it to stand out thanks.”
“Thank you for being so talented and taking on my challenge of a custom black and and white piece as I so love this and your beautiful color pieces as well this just shows you can make anything amazing. 🤩”
'Alphabet letters'
MINIATURES | SET OF TWO
The collector’s inspiration:
Linda, my client, not me, wanted her initials as large Alphabet Miniatures. She said "I have been watching you and your amazing work mainly on Facebook. I just love everything about your work."
How could I resist this project?!
How Linda developed the commission:
I'd experimented previously with initials as 4" Miniatures so I was delighted to produce two 5" works, as the larger size gives me more creative scope to develop the background and not just the letters..
Collector feedback:
"Well, I am just ecstatic about how they came out!! They are just so beautiful, and I love the stands!
Thank you so much for your hard work on these…I will treasure them forever!! I feel lucky to have some of your beautiful work in my home!!
Have a great day, and thank you again!!"
COMMISSIONING AN ORIGINAL MINIATURE IS MUCH EASIER THAN MOST PEOPLE IMAGINE.
You don't need all the answers before you begin.
That's Linda's job.
Your job is simply to bring the spark.
The idea.
The memory.
The place.
A fascination with colour and shape.
Something you've wanted to express for a long time.
Together you'll develop it into an original artwork that's entirely your own.
"I love how you asked for, and then followed, my input about the piece I wanted and THEN drew up 3 separate designs for me to choose from which went way and above what I expected.
You have been wonderful to, I hate to say “deal” with, because that falls short of how my experience with you went.
I feel that it was more of a collaboration together.
Thank you so much, I love them both!"

'Flamboyance'
MINIATURE | ONE OFF
The collector’s inspiration:
When one of my top collectors came back to order a Flamingo Tallboy (see 'Flamboyance' in the commissions gallery) I was obviously delighted, but strangely it left me feeling something was missing?
How Linda developed the commission:
The title of the work was 'Flamboyance' which is technically a group of flamingoes, such as you see in nature documentaries. So one flamingo Tallboy didn't give me the 'quite perfect' feeling that I normally get from a project.
So unasked, I made her a Miniature as well, moving the whole work closer to a real flamboyance of flamingoes, justifying the title of the work - 'Flamboyance'.
Then it felt 'quite perfect' :)
Collector feedback:
" Oh Linda it's gorgeous!!!"
'Floral'
MINIATURES | SET OF FOUR
The collector's inspiration:
She'd seen my large 'Floral' roundel and decided she wanted a set of them as Miniatures, but designed differently of course.
How Linda developed the commission:
I happened to love this floral design so I made eight of them and the client choose her favourite four to make a set.
It felt over-the-top to actually make eight when the collector only requested four, but it felt right to me.
And luckily enough the four that remained were snapped up by a new collector looking for a birthday gift.
So all's well that ends well!
Collector feedback:
"Beautiful artwork; great communication; very good packaging (purchased several items and no damage); and great communication."
'Orangerie'
MINIATURES | TWO OFF ON STANDS
The collector’s inspiration:
This collector chose two Miniatures inspired by the 'Orangerie' theme - and loved being involved at every stage. From selecting the palette to seeing the individual glass pieces come together, she followed the process closely and shared her thoughts along the way.
How Linda developed the commission:
'Orangerie' has always been one of my favourites. It captures the feeling of all the glasshouses I've visited over the years.
It felt effortless to develop two Miniatures based on this theme that warms my heart!
The collector said:
"Hi Linda, I have to say I had no idea that I would participate so much in my project. It is great. Yes, you certainly may share my project on social media."
She also said: "I just opened my package and am over the moon with them. They are just so beautiful. Turned out exactly as I pictured them.
Thank you so much for your time and effort, very much appreciated."
'Wedding Balloon'
MINIATURE | ONE OFF - WALL MOUNTED
The collector’s inspiration:
She said "I'd like to send you a picture of the hot air balloon that flew overhead at my wedding in hopes that you can replicate it. Is that something we can arrange?"
How Linda developed the commission:
It's like balloons keep following me round :)
This is the 10th request I've had to make a Miniature balloon!
So the answer was obviously "yes".
It was a joy to bring her treasured memory back to life in 59 separate pieces using 11 different colours of art glass.
The collector said:
"We are very happy with it! It arrived on Valentines day, so it was a fun gift to present to my husband!
We plan to hang it with our wedding photos and when that happens I will send a photo to you!"
'Bright Eyes'
MINIATURE | ONE OFF ON STAND
The collector’s inspiration:
When looking at my original 'Gaze' work, Danielle asked "Could we reimagine the eye with a green-blue palette and make the iris amber/honey colored? And if it’s possible to have a name ... could we call the piece “Bright Eyes”?
How Linda developed the commission:
This project arrived at a time when I was deeply into blues and teals - so I was delighted with the collector's inspiration and ideas - wanting green and blue.
Additionally, I'd done a series of small eyes, so to do a larger one on a proper stand was very welcome.
The trickiest part was identifying the honey/amber of the eyes from a selection of yellows. The collector helped a lot here as she knew what she wanted!
Collector feedback:
"The piece is absolutely stunning! I am floored, and we cannot wait to have “Bright Eyes” in our home. We are going to put her near a window to get plenty of light.
Thank you for your artistic vision and dedication to making this such a special piece. I can’t wait to work with you again.
This is our year to thrive, so that definitely means more art! "
'Spring Awakens'
MINIATURE | 7" WALL-MOUNTED
The collector’s inspiration:
A lady from Italy asked me to Reimagine one of my Portico bowls, but as a flat wall-mounted Miniature in a colour scheme to match her bedroom wall.
How Linda developed the commission:
As an artist herself, she loved going into every detail of the glass colours, transparencies and the shapes she imagined.
Because she wasn't in a rush for delivery, we could plesantly take our time examining every option of colour possible, interestingly without changing any of the basic design shapes of 'Portico', which she's now renamed 'Spring Awakens'.
Collector feedback:
"It's been an exciting process which I enjoyed being a part of and I love the end result!
Linda cares about the process of making your artwork (large or small) from start to finish.
She regularly keeps in touch and is happy to adapt her ideas based on your feedback.
I ordered a small glass wall panel and she added all my ideas.
It really felt like a collaborative process.
She keeps you updated with a Google photos album so you know what is happening with your artwork every step of the way.
My glass art looks great and it will be an integral part of my home's design. I would definitely order from her again."
NOT EVERY COMMISSION CELEBRATES A MILESTONE.
Sometimes you simply want to live with something beautiful.
Something that catches your eye every morning.
Something that still makes you smile years later.
Something that's uniquely yours.
That's reason enough.
"Well, I am just ecstatic about how they came out!! They are just so beautiful, and I love the stands!
Thank you so much for your hard work on these…I will treasure them forever!! I feel lucky to have some of your beautiful work in my home!!
Have a great day, and thank you again!!"

'Abundance'
MINIATURES | TWO ON STANDS
The collector’s inspiration:
When she saw my Abundance Roundel and Miniatures, she immediately wanted to puchase Miniatures in a similar theme. No difficult decision - just "Yes please".
How Linda developed the commission:
I was already working on two other projects for this lady, so this made a third project.
It wasn't difficult to do three different compositions at the same time, as she always loves my colour ideas, and is very easy to please. I intuitively understood the palettes she had in mind for her different projects very quickly. It's a good realtionship.
As a keen collector, she's since come back for more artworks as well!
Collector feedback:
"Everything is absolutely fabulous!! I’m so excited about receiving it all. I love your creativity & love of color. I think I might like a bowl as well. Can’t wait for our next project 😊"
'The Morton logo'
MINIATURE | TALL WALL MOUNTED
The collector’s inspiration:
Morton Glassworks have previously had their logo made in glass a number of times. But when she saw my Hard Edge style, she knew she wanted another!
How Linda developed the commission:
Once she saw my initial designs she immediately wanted it bigger, making this my longest slim work to date.
I was also very flattered to be awarded the project by the company that sets the standard in glass cutting accessories.
Collector feedback:
"I love how you share the care we give process! The colors look fantastic!
Yes, please share away on social media. Feel free to tag Morton Glass Works and My personal page if you like."
