Hard Edge glass art: You know it when you see it
A new style of kiln-fused glass art by Linda Rossiter, created to commission for modern interiors.
Meet Linda
Linda Rossiter has created more than 75 original glass art commissions for clients around the world.
Her Hard Edge style brings brilliant colour, precise forms and light into works made for particular people and places. Each commission develops through a close conversation with the person who will live with it.
This film introduces the art and the artist. Below, you can take a closer look at the work, see how a commission develops, and hear from the people who have worked with Linda.
A reason to look forward to Monday
Linda’s Monday email newsletter is short. It takes you to something she’s making, discovering or thinking about: perhaps a new commission, a moment in the studio, or a fresh look at colour and glass.
It’s a way to get to know her work over time, even when you have no pressing project in mind.
The Anatomy of Hard Edge glass art
Stay a moment with the work
The film you just saw moves quickly. These pieces deserve a longer look.
Gardening

Beaulieu River
A river and sailing boat interpreted for collectors whose new home has a strong connection to its waterside setting and mid-century modern design.
L’Amour, Toujours
L’Amour, Toujours (Love, Forever) holds a personal story of family and love. Josephine Bourdariat’s original artwork was adapted for glass, cutting and fitting 104 individual pieces.
From an idea to an artwork: Alluring Montage
Ray Chimienti had collected glass for thirty years when he encountered Linda’s Hard Edge work. He began by asking about a small face artwork. Their conversations led somewhere more ambitious.
The starting thought
A face, colour, and the possibility of something more than a single small piece.
The decisions they made together
Ray and Linda explored the composition, scale and presentation. Linda suggested a black glass border; Ray felt it gave the colours greater force.
The work at home
The finished tall artwork now lives among Ray’s collection. Light passing through it can throw colour onto the wall behind.
“It was a true pleasure working with you.” Ray Chimienti
