A Miniature commission is a one-off Hard Edge glass artwork, designed and kiln fused by me in my distinctive style.
Five inches is the smallest usual size, although many Miniatures are planned larger from the beginning.
Your Miniature might begin with a person, pet, place, memory or colour idea.
Or you might ask me to reimagine part of one of my previous artworks in a way that feels entirely your own.
Whatever inspires it, your Miniature receives the same artistic thought, care and attention as one of my largest commissions.
You bring the spark.

A Miniature is not a scaled down artwork
A Miniature isn’t a large design squeezed into a smaller space.
It’s created for its own proportions from the very first line.
The balance has to work. The colours have to carry. Every piece of glass has to earn its place.
Good colour doesn’t need acres of wall.
A Miniature can bring Linda’s Hard Edge style into favourite spots where a larger artwork might feel too much.
Where will yours live?
A Miniature can sit beside you while you work, read, think or relax.
It might live on your desk, a shelf, a bedside table or beside your favourite chair.
You see it often.
You notice how the light catches it.
It becomes a familiar presence.
Sometimes it becomes a companion of sorts. Not because it belongs beside another artwork, but because it belongs beside you.
A Miniature can also be a companion in the traditional sense, created to sit alongside one of my larger artworks or to develop a favourite detail from it.
Some belong together.
Others make their own friends.
Where can your Miniature begin?
Your own original idea
You might arrive with a photograph, a memory, a rough sketch or simply something you’ve thought about for years.
It could be a much-loved animal, a favourite place, a friendship, an achievement or a private symbol that only means something to you.
Fox and Magpie began with two characters from a collector’s friend’s story.
They became two related Miniatures, joined through colour but each with its own personality.
A reimagining of my previous work
You might already have a favourite Linda design, subject or detail.
That can become the starting point for something new.
Bright Eyes began with the eye from my Yearning artwork. The collector asked whether it could be reimagined in greens and blues, with an amber and honey coloured iris.
The result was connected to Yearning, but it had its own palette, name and identity.
A companion to another artwork
Yearning took the memorable eye from a large roundel and developed it into a separate Miniature.
Sakura grew from the theme of an earlier commission and eventually became a trio of Miniatures for different favourite spots in the collector’s home.

What happens after you contact me?
1. We talk about your idea
Tell me what’s inspired you.
You can send photographs, colours, examples of artwork you enjoy or pictures of the place where your Miniature might live.
Your idea can be very specific or only half formed.
You don’t need to draw.
And you certainly don’t need to speak in art language.
2. I turn it into a design
I’ll begin exploring the composition, colours and individual glass shapes.
You’ll see my initial ideas and photographs of real glass colours.
You can tell me what feels right, what doesn’t or whether you’d love more blue.
Then I take it from there.
The finished artwork needs to feel personal to you and unmistakably mine.
3. You watch it come to life
Once you’re happy with the design, I begin cutting the individual glass pieces.
You’ll receive photographs in your private online album as the Miniature develops.
You’ll see the glass being selected, cut, arranged and prepared for the kiln.
Share the adventure if you’d like to
Some collectors prefer to keep the whole experience private.
Others love sharing it.
If you choose to share your commission publicly, I can feature its creation across my social media.
Your story could unfold in front of more than 230,000 followers as they watch the design develop, see the glass being selected and cut, and wait for the final reveal.
You can share the posts with your own friends, family and followers too.
For many collectors, that becomes a real thrill.

4. Your finished Miniature arrives
Your completed artwork is carefully packed and delivered with its agreed display solution, illustrated commission booklet and signed certificate of authenticity.
How payment works
A 10% reservation secures your place in my creation calendar.
No further payment is required until you’re delighted with the initial design.
The next 40% is paid before I begin the glasswork, with the final 50% due when your Miniature is complete.
How large are Miniatures?
Five inches is the smallest usual size, but many Miniatures begin with a larger plan.
The right dimensions depend on the design, the individual glass shapes and where the finished artwork will live.
There isn’t a standard shape either.
A Miniature can be round, square, tall, shaped or created as a small wall panel.
How will it be displayed?
Your Miniature can be presented on a discreet clear acrylic stand, a custom steel stand or with a wall mounting where appropriate.
An acrylic stand works beautifully on a desk, shelf or bedside table.
A custom steel stand can give the artwork greater height and presence.
A wall mounted Miniature can bring colour and reflected light into a smaller wall space.
If you send me a photograph of the intended location, I can help you decide which presentation will look best.
What is Living Light?
Living Light is the experience of seeing my glass in different lights and at different times of day.
Morning daylight can reveal transparency and reflections that look quite different in the evening.
Room lighting can make the colours richer or more intense.
You might place your Miniature near a window or use your own spotlight for a more dramatic night time appearance.
The artwork stays the same.
What you see keeps changing.

How much does a Miniature commission cost?
Miniature commissions start from under £1,000 GBP.
Every project is quoted individually because the design, size, glass cutting and display method all affect the final cost.
A simple acrylic stand and a custom made steel stand involve very different work, so your preferred presentation is included in the quote.
Everything is agreed before your place is reserved.
Miniatures as gifts and awards
A Miniature can celebrate a birthday, wedding, friendship, achievement or treasured memory.
It can also give someone the chance to take part in creating their own original artwork.
You can give the complete commission or contribute towards it with family members or friends.
Miniatures can also be created as individually engraved business awards, using company colours to recognise people whose achievements deserve something more memorable than a standard trophy.
