What You Said
Over the last few days, 130 people chose to answer this simple test.
It revealed something interesting.
Most people didn’t describe their choices using formal art language.
Very few talked about composition or technique first.
Instead, the same words kept appearing:
bold - calm - clarity - order - flow - peaceful - warm - stable - beautiful
This has significance.
It tells us all that people respond to feeling first, and explanation second.
You don’t fall in love with structure.
You fall in love with how something makes you feel.
Then later, you explain why.
That’s true in art, interiors, and often in life.
A few comments that stood out
“I chose the bold one first, but the calmer one stayed with me.”
“It was calmer, more composed.”
“I like abstract and geometric more than I thought.”
“Simple, but very effective.”
“The uniformity took over.”
“Complexity with clarity.”
“I’m drawn to earthy colours and movement.”
“I like defined lines. Bold colour.”
The second look was revealing
Many of you changed your mind on the second round, which made it one of the most interesting parts.
The first choice was often Boldness.
The second choice was often Stability.
At first, something catches your eye.
Then something earns your trust.
Collectors often live in that space - not just what grabs you, but what you still want beside you every day.
That second look was important.
Probably more than the first.
So what did your choices reveal?
Maybe you’re drawn to order.
Maybe to softness.
Maybe to colour confidence.
Maybe to quiet complexity.
There isn’t a right answer.
But there’s usually a pattern.
And once you start noticing it, you begin to understand your own taste more clearly.
That’s where collecting really begins.
Tell me this
Looking back now:
Did your first choice still feel like your best choice?
Or did something quieter win in the end?
That answer is often the real one.
HERE'S THE TEST:
Which One Stops You?
A simple test that reveals how you really see art.
You don’t need training to respond to art.
You don’t need theory.
You just need a moment.
Because something happens very quickly.
Before words. Before analysis.
You stop at a picture.
Or you don’t.
