Some moments stay with us because they changed our lives.

The funny thing about celebrations

Celebrations don't last very long.

The flowers fade.

The meal comes to an end.

The speeches are over.

The guests go home.

Even the photographs eventually disappear into dusty albums or are buried in your phone, never to be seen again.

Yet, the reason for the celebration never really disappears. It simply becomes part of us.

Some memories seem to wait patiently for years before gently tapping us on the shoulder again.

I remember listening to one gentleman who commissioned Linda to create colourful hot air balloons in glass.

He wasn't celebrating something that had happened recently.

He was celebrating a memory from his student days in Bristol, years earlier, when bright balloons drifted across the city and lodged themselves somewhere deep in his imagination.

He never forgot them, and one day it simply felt right to celebrate that memory.

How we celebrate the things that matter

People celebrate in many different ways.

Some donate to a charity that's close to their heart.
