Biarritz Diptych: Fused glass wall art
This glass artwork consists of two fused glass panels, designed to complement each other, and work perfectly together. The whole is greater than the sum of the parts!
The design was inspired by the architecture in Biarritz, France, giving the feeling of water and geometric buildings in the sunshine. I've always loved Hockney's depiction* of swimming pool water, so this also influenced the look of the pool.
The two panels together will transform your wall with colour and light.
They are mounted on a wall using the supplied fittings.
Designed in my unique Hard Edge Glass style, these are really unique pieces of glass art.
Developed during Summer 2022, the panels are made with a mix of coloured glass in a strong palette of blues, blues, teals, reds, yellows, clear and white, using both transparent and opaque glass.
Each panel is approx 11¼" by 19" and ¼” thick.
The panels are supplied with 8 stand-offs. These are wall mounts that need to be drilled into the wall, providing a good strong mount for your art. I'll supply instructions as to how to position the glass art to show it at it's best.
Handmade in the UK in my Glass Studio in West Lancashire, it comes with a Certificate of Authenticity - signed by me, Linda Rossiter, so you can be sure that your piece is original.
* I particularly like Hockney's "Portrait of an Artist (Pool with Two Figures)"

Display ideas
Glass art is best displayed on a white wall. Stand-off mounts are used to fix the pieces to the wall. These hold the glass panels a little way away from the wall, helping the light to reflect back against the glass from behind
