I'm looking through glass samples to get the right balance for a new commission.
I do love this grape glass - it's very intense.
We haven't decided on the final colours yet - the customer has sent some images of ornaments she owns, so I have a good idea of the overall scheme she'd like.
But I'll continue to experiment during this week until we're both delighted with the choice of palette.
I work hard to get a "Yes I think that’s gorgeous" before I move on to the next stage.
I'll also be considering how each piece of glass works with its neighbour, and where I want opaque or transparent glass.
At each stage the customer will see my ideas - first as computer-designed images, and then as photos and videos of the art glass itself.
